Participant Speaks
Anjali 13 ttt says: I think when we studied, we hardly understood why we were studying a particular subject and there was no effort to make it interesting for us. Activity design, this way i think ensures a better awareness among children.
Santrupta 13ttt says: Reflecting upon how activites were done when I was a child and really had to think before I could even remember activities being done in school!!! The few I could recollect may have involved thinking skills but they were not open and a lot of times the "me" part was not taken care of because of which some kids were interested (depending on their interest or the reward associated ) while others weren't.
Sheeba 13ttt says:The idea is to make children think rather than simply follow instructions. This is the only way to maximize learning.
Manjistha 10ttt says: For a child an activity is fun with a purpose. He wants to create something-------that is his purpose; the child is using the procedural knowledge without knowing the conceptual knowledge of the process of creating that ‘something’. The external involvement may not be acceptable for the children; therefore the teacher can only create an environment for them with a particular objective in the mind. There is every possibility of having a vast difference between the teacher’s objective and the student’s purpose. To minimize the gap the proper design is essential; once the teacher independently designed the activity, it is now the children’s turn to be active in their activity.
Mahalakshmi 11ttt says: KEY GUIDING QUESTIONS now is the secret to design to Activity , and the questions thought from various angles automatically took care of the 8 areas of MI . Having identified the Areas of MI , now comes the task of designing one keeping in view of the Child , "Why I need to perform this activity " THe GOAL of the child and the objective of the adult . At one point we have to convert the objective into goal and the goal into objective.
I need to put my thinking caps on always !!!
